The Mashable community flocked to the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Brooklyn on Sunday to celebrate Mashable’s fifth annual Social Media Day. This year’s NYC event boasted hundreds of attendees throughout the afternoon and fostered good spirits at the funky, retro-themed venue.
While there, Mashable fans played shuffleboard, snapped pictures at a GIF booth, sipped on social media-themed cocktails and socialized with others passionate about our global social media revolution. In between all the activities, attendees posted pictures and updates to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook using the #SMDay hashtag. Screens in the venue displayed the social buzz on feeds provided by Mass Relevance.
The large majority of attendees were local to New York City, representing the advertising, marketing and media industries.
Our partner Bitly supplied the GIF booth, which attracted lines all night. Social media fans donned silly glasses and straw hats to smile big for the camera. The booth then transformed four snapshots into an animated collection.
A big thanks to everyone that came out. We hope you had as much fun at Social Media Day NYC as we did! To learn more about Mashable’s upcoming events, follow @MashableEvents on Twitter.
